Development of LNU distance learning course "Ecology of Microorganisms" with a series of laboratory works.

  The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the impact of various factors on microorganisms and the response of the latter to the action of these factors and to develop methods for assessing the impact of pollution on the environment.

The course provides students with the influence of various factors on microorganisms and the response of the latter to the action of these factors, the forms of relationships of microorganisms with each other and with other organisms. The importance of microorganisms in the processes of the cycle of substances will be revealed. In the process of laboratory work students will learn to analyze the impact of various environmental factors on the growth and development of microorganisms, characterize and give examples of different types of relationships between microorganisms in nature, assess the impact of environmental pollution on microbial coenoses and microbial pollution. This course will be included in the curriculum.
