
ONU virtual training course “Plant Biotechnology”
The course involves introduction of the main achievements in plant biotechnology, the basic approaches and methods of cultivating isolated cells, tissues and organs of plants in vitro, and various practical uses of plant tissue culture in vitro. Students will learn the analysis, choose and implement the main research methods for solving practical tasks; organize the work of the in vitro culture laboratory of plant cells, tissues and organs; prepare and sterilize nutrient media for cultivation of plant material in vitro; sterilize lab ware, tools and additional materials; sterilize plant material; establish plant objects to in vitro culture using various types of explants; carry out work in a laminar-flow box; research callus and suspension cultures; carry out clonal micropropagation of plants; work independently with scientific literature. This course will be included in the curriculum.
