ONU virtual laboratory course "Methods of DNA cloning and purification of proteins” (in cooperation with the MHH)
The aim of the course is to practice the methodology of the online course "DNA cloning, expression and purification of recombinant proteins" for students in crisis situations.
The course involves mastering a wide range of biotechnological, molecular biological, biochemical and immunological research methods. These include DNA cloning, protein expression, chromatographic purification, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), dot blotting and protein electrophoresis. Students must learn how to efficiently express proteins of transformed Escherichia coli strains, isolate proteins and purify them by affinity chromatography and gel filtration. This course will be included in the curriculum.
The "Innovative Virtual Laboratory of Biology and Biomedicine" approach will be used in the development of the course. The virtual 3D laboratory is developed on Unity3D for OS Windows and includes a virtual work training block and a scoring system testing block for training and evaluation of students.
Lecturer: at ONU (Ukraine) Assoc. Prof., PhD Andriy Merlich, senior researcher, PhD Nadiia Korotaieva; senior researcher from the MHH, PhD Tetyana Yevsa.
